It's called a compromise. The kiddos have this week off and since we all have a bit of the winter blues we wanted to plan a long weekend that would be fun for everyone. And so we traveled to Stralsund in Mecklenburg Vorpommern, a Unesco World Heritage site on the Baltic Sea and stayed in a cheesy hotel with a waterpark. The weekend truly had something for everyone. We spent part of our days in the city of Stralsund which has a really nice Ozeanium (a marine museum/aquarium), a beautiful Hanseatic old city, an impressive ancient church, a great playground and an old German navy ship. The rest of the time we were poolside at the waterpark. By the end of day one the kids had learned the schedule of nautical events- which chime signaled the hourly fake ocean waves, what gong meant the current was turned on in the canal, or that the waterfall was going to begin soon. Swaddled in white hotel robes we lounged and swam and ate and I followed everyone around with my camera.
